Aimed at the outdoor enthusiast or for holidaymakers on a budget and cycle or motorbike tourers, our 3 ÉPIS, GÎTES DE FRANCE registered campsite is located in the beautiful department of the Gers, Occitanie and located separately to the apartments.
LA HAILLE is situated on a hill at an altitude of 1,012 feet (308.5 meters), and set in 100 acres (220 vergées, 40 hectares), of private land; guaranteed tranquility, unrivalled seclusion, peace and privacy in a rural location amongst flora and fauna, with stunning country views and the Pyrénées.
For hikers, there are over 30 marked walks within the immediate area and specialist guided walks throughout the summer, covering such topics as rare orchids and other local flora and fauna specific to this area.
The camping is spacious, offering plenty of privacy and shady areas to relax and, as there are no defined emplacements, you are free to choose where you want to pitch.
Outside there is a barbecue area for you to use along with exterior tables and chairs and there is also a games room and a shared laundry room.
There are two separate showers with free hot water, two separate toilets and toilet paper is included.
To help make your camping even more convenient and comfortable, there is the additional facility of a fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs, two gas hobs (1 x 3 gas rings and 1 x 4 gas rings), fridge/freezer, electric coffee machine, microwave, cutlery, crockery and pots and pans for you to use.
Electrical hook ups are available for caravans and mobile homes.
We also have a seasoned two berth caravan, (sleeping only) with an au-vent and small wood decking patio for rent.
Possibility of a bread and croissant pick-up in the morning by prior arrangement for cyclists and walkers who have no motorised transport.
We keep a stock of basic food and drink items which are available for you to buy should you need them.
A room which sleeps a maximum of four people is also available.
Although we are rurally located, the village of Simorre, (4 km) has all amenities.
Here you will find a baker, a butcher, "Le Bouche à Oreille" - an internet bar/restaurant, "La Guingettte" - an ephemeral restaurant, a small super market, a small bio grocery shop, a tourism office, two hairdressers, a massage parlour, a computer/phone shop, a post office (open Monday to Friday, mornings only), an ATM machine, a 24 hour filling station, two estate agents, a museum plus a mountain bike base with which we work in conjunction.
There is a small market, 'marché de producteurs' at Simorre every Friday from 16:00 to 19:00.
Every Saturday there is a pizza van, 'Les pizz'amis' at Simorre from 18:00.
